Controversial University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill released a lengthy statement on Tuesday in response to the school's decision to fire him to academic misconduct.
Churchill said he will fire a lawsuit for wrongful termination. He criticized the process used to investigate allegations of misconduct against him and said he was fired for political and ideological reasons.
A panel found Churchill had committed "serious, repeated, and deliberate research misconduct" over the years. The panel did not investigate Churchill's claims of Indian heritage.
