Controversial University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill won't face discipline for misrepresenting his alleged Indian heritage or for copyright infringement, his lawyer said.
But a university committee said Churchill should be investigated for seven plagiarism claims, the lawyer said. The claims were referred to yet another committee, which will review the charges.
Churchill has claimed Cherokee, Creek and other tribal affiliations but hasn't been able to document his Indian ancestry, according to people who have reviewed his records.
