An investigation into alleged research misconduct by University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill will be released to the public next week.
A committee looked into alleged plagiarism, ghostwriting and misrepresentation of Indian law in Churchill's work. The panel did not address Churchill's claims of Indian heritage.
After the report is released, Churchill will have a couple of weeks to respond. The CU chancellor plans to announce a decision, if any, on Churchill's future in early June.
Churchill, at various times, has claimed Cherokee, Creek, Cree and Metis ancestry. He was given associate membership by the United Keetoowah Band in Oklahoma but the tribe says it didn't verify his ancestry.
