The University of Colorado's Standing Committee on Research Misconduct is moving forward with a full investigation of controversial professor Ward Churchill.

The committee said it will investigate seven allegations of plagiarism, misuse of others' work, falsification and fabrication of authority. The committee will take 120 days to conduct its probe.

Churchill says the allegations are baseless. He sparked controversy for comparing some victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks to Nazis.

His alleged Indian heritage also came into question but the committee said it would not investigate whether he misrepresented himself.
