Means pardoned by outgoing Janklow

MONDAY, JANUARY 6, 2003 American Indian Movement activist and actor Russell Means was pardoned last week by outgoing South Dakota Governor Bill Janklow (R). Means pleaded guilty in 1975 to one felony count under a law that was later repealed. The conviction prevented him from running for public office in New Mexico, where he has a home. Janklow (R) is a new member of the U.S. House of Representatives. Get the Story:
