Voters on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota have a new set of leaders.

Incumbent President John Yellow Bird Steele survived a challenge by activist Russell Means. According to unofficial results, Steele won by 512 votes. He won six out of nine districts on the reservation.

For Vice President, Dennis King beat Eileen Janis. King won by a little over 400 votes.

Nine council members were also elected.
