TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 2002

Voters on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota go to the polls today to choose a new president.

The election was originally scheduled November 11. But a ballot challenge required the tribe to hold another primary on that date.

Incumbent John Yellow Bird Steele is being challenged by actor and activist Russell Means. Steele says Means is an outsider who hasn't live on the reservation for years. Means says the tribe needs radical change.
