Canada's prime minister to apologize to Natives

Prime Minister Stephen Harper of Canada will make a formal apology to the survivors of Native residential schools on June 11.

The apology is part of a $1.9 billion settlement for abuse suffered by students of the schools. About 75,000 people have received their share of the settlement.

Harper will deliver the apology in the House of Commons.
