A council member for the Schaghticoke Tribal Nation of Connecticut was arrested by state police after being found with a loaded gun on the reservation.
Anthony P. Crone, 41, was charged with possession of a loaded firearm in his vehicle, larceny and criminal mischief. He was said to have waved the gun around during a confrontation with members of a rival tribal faction.
The rival Schaghticoke Indian Tribe is claiming to be the legitimate leadership of the tribe. The group has claimed control of the 400-acre reservation amid the tribe's fight for federal recognition.
