The hearing phase of an inquiry into the death of a Native teenager in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, ended last week.

Neil Stonechild, 17, went missing the night police were looking for him back in 1990. He was found dead in a field on the outskirts of town. His family and many in the Native community suspect police involvement.

Justice David Wright heard from more than 60 witnesses over 43 days. Police denied knowledge of Stonechild's death. A friend of Stonechild testified that he last saw the teen in the back of a police cruiser.

Wright is expected to issue a final report sometime this summer.
