A police officer in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, took a polygraph test three years ago in hopes of clearing his possible involvement in the death of a Native teen, CBC News reports.

The officer was administered the test on the eve before an RCMP probe into Neil Stonechild's death. Police were looking for the 17-year-old Native the night he went missing. He was found frozen on the outskirts of town a few days later.

The RCMP probe never resulted in charges for anyone. A separate inquiry into Stonechild's death is currently wrapping up.
