Witness denied standing for inquiry into teen's death

The inquiry into the death of a Native teen in Saskatchewan was temporarily stopped on Wednesday. The commissioner of the inquiry halted proceedings after he denied full standing to one of the key witnesses. Lawyers for the witness, Jason Roy, plan to appeal. Roy was one of the last persons to see Neil Stonechild, 17, alive. Stonechild was found frozen to death on the outskirts of Saskatoon in 1990. Many in the Aboriginal community believe the police were involved. At the time, police ruled the death an accident. A police constable testified yesterday that he told superiors that Stonechild may have been murdered. Get the Story:
