The inquiry into the death of a Native teen in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, heard from the chief of police on Thursday.

Joe Penkala said that he was embarrassed by the way Neil Stonechild's death was investigated. He blamed the shoddy probe on subordinates.

Stonechild, 17, was found dead in a remote area of town in 1990. Many in the Native community suspect police involvement. Police were looking for him the night he was last seen alive.

The inquiry rested yesterday and will resume for a last round of testimony next week.
