Lumbee chairman gives state of tribe address

The chairman of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina gave the State of the Tribe address on Tuesday.

Chairman Milton Hunt said he hoped the tribe would gain federal recognition through Congress this year. One bill would recognize the tribe outright while the other would require the tribe to go through the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
