An Arizona legislative panel held a hearing on Tuesday to discuss stalled tribal gaming compacts.

Hoping to revive the agreements, Rep. Steve May offered an amendment that requires tribes to be more open about their finances. Tribes might be willing to accept the proposal if they are given assurances the compacts won't be delayed again, said David LaSarte, executive director of the Arizona Indian Gaming Association.
