'Nobody better' to head BIA than Anderson
Wednesday, December 10, 2003

There's "nobody better" than Dave Anderson to head the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.) said.

"Many have called this one of the toughest jobs in Washington, an agency that has had terrible problems," Coleman told The Minneapolis Star Tribune after learning that the Senate unanimously confirmed Anderson as the assistant secretary for Indian Affairs.

Coleman is a big supporter of Anderson, who lives in the state. He introduced Anderson to the Senate Indian Affairs Committee at Anderson's confirmation hearing in October.

Anderson has contributed financially to Coleman. According to Federal Election Commission records, Anderson and his wife gave $4,000 to Coleman.
