Navajo president welcomes Democratic takeover

Fresh from his own victory at the polls, Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley Jr. says the Democratic takeover of Congress means good things for the tribe.

"We're going to have a lot more friends in Washington," Shirley told the Associated Press.

Shirley said the tribe will ask Congress for more funding for health care, education and social services. He cited repeated cuts made by the Republican administration.
