Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld is resigning after six years in the Bush administration, nearly four them of them spent on the war in Iraq.

Rumsfeld was considered a political liability due to the unpopularity of the war. But President Bush was recently saying that he would keep Rumsfeld on.
