A reported 300 people marched to Whiteclay, Nebraska, on Saturday to protest the sale of liquor in the tiny border town.
Tribal activists and their supporters called on the state of Nebraska to ban liquor in the town. The nearby Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, where most of the patrons live, is dry.
The march coincided with the anniversary of the unsolved 1999 deaths of two Lakota men. Tribal activists blame Whiteclay for the deaths.
