A Nebraska man has withdrawn his application for a liquor license in Whiteclay.

The Sheridan County Board of Commissioners was due to vote on the application this week. Thomas Bernard asked to open a fourth store in the town because one license had been canceled.

But Bernard changed his mind after a court last week ruled that the license at issue had been wrongly rejected. The Nebraska Liquor Control Commission is considering an appeal.

The town is a few miles from the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. The liquor establishments draw a large clientele from the reservation.
