A Nebraska man is renewing efforts to sell liquor in the border town of Whiteclay.

Thomas Bernard had been rejected by the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. In its decision, the commission said there were already enough liquor stores in the tiny town of 30.

Four stores in the town sold 427,000 gallons of beer last year, mostly to residents of the nearby Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. One store recently lost its license because the store owner was a convicted felon. The man's son has applied for a new license.

Bernard says he should get the fourth license.
