Members of an activist group protesting the sale of liquor to American Indians were cited for drinking beer at a public hearing in Nebraska on Thursday.

Law enforcement authorities will consider prosecution for the infraction. Four members of Nebraskans for Peace starting drinking the beer to protest inaction of liquor violations in Whiteclay.

Whiteclay is located near the South Dakota border. Its liquor establishments cater largely to residents of the Oglala Lakota Pine Ridge Reservation.
