Janklow greeted by supporters, protesters leaving jail

Former South Dakota governor and U.S. congressman Bill Janklow was released from jail on Monday after serving 100 days for second-degree manslaughter and three misdemeanors.

Janklow said little to the throng of media awaiting his release from the Sioux Falls jail. Supporters and protesters were also there, including an Indian family who says their son is serving life for a similar crime. Janklow killed a motorcyclist while speeding on a state highway last August.

Janklow hasn't said what his plans are. He resigned from Congress after being convicted.
