Tulalip Tribes debut casino to 5 000 guests

FRIDAY, JUNE 6, 2003 The Tulalip Tribes of Washington held an invitation-only grand opening of its new $78 million casino. A reported 5,000 got the first glimpse of the new facility, designed to replace an old gambling hall. Even with four restaurants, 2,000 slot machines and 49 gaming tables, "It's not big enough," one guest told The Seattle Times. The casino is in the tribe's Quil Ceda village development.
