Wash. tribe gets ready to open $72M casino

FRIDAY, MAY 23, 2003 The new $72 million casino owned by the Tulalip Tribes of Washington is ready to open. The 227,000-square-foot facility will be located in the tribe's business development village. It will employ nearly 1,000, about half of whom are Indian, the tribe says. The casino is just the first phase of a project that will include hotels and a convention center, shopping malls, an amusement park, an amphitheater and a fun center. Get the Story:
