An attempt to remove three Flathead Nation council members who supported a controversial blood quantum referendum has been squashed.

Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes Chairman Fred Matt said the motion didn't follow procedure. Maggie Goode, Joel Clairmont and Denny Orr, backed changes in tribal enrollment that would have double membership. It was unanimously rejected by voters.
