The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is trying to find a new job for the only American Indian in the Senate, John McCaslin of The Washington Times reports.

Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell (R-Colo.) hasn't said whether he will run for re-election in 2004. But "Inside the Beltway" says the DSCC has been "peppering his office with job offers."

Washington sources have reported that Campbell is interested in heading the U.S. Olympic Committee. But the man himself says he is satisfied with everything in the Beltway, except for the weather.

"I think I should stay. I like the job," Campbell tells The Denver Post. "I don't particularly like the location. I don't like high-humidity cities."

Campbell has raised nearly $1 million in new campaign funds. He says his goal is $2.5 million.
