Lumbee Tribe seeks to limit re-enrollments

The Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina is seeking to limit the number of times a person can re-enroll.

According to The Fayetteville Observer, tribal members can turn in their enrollment cards twice before being permanently removed. “We don’t need people to flip-flop,” council member John Lowery said.

The council is proposing to limit re-enrollment to one time. The issue was referred to the Constitution and Ordinance Committee.
