Extradition hearing to begin in Aquash murder case

A court in Vancouver, British Columbia, will start an extradition hearing today for a Canadian Native man accused of murdering American Indian Movement activist Anna Mae Pictou Aquash in 1975.

Aquash's body was found on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota in February 1976. She had been shot in the head.

John Graham is one of two men accused of her murder. He doesn't want to be tried in the United States because he says he won't get a fair trial.

Arlo Looking Cloud, the second man charged, was found guilty by a federal jury. He has an appeal hearing on January 10 before the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
