First Nation hosts meeting on boarding school abuse

The Gordon First Nation of Saskatchewan is hosting a meeting on residential school abuse this week.

Organizer Eddie Bitternose said the gathering is focused on the healing process. He is a survivor of school abuse.

The government sponsored boarding schools for Natives that were run by churches. Thousands of abuse claims have been filed against the government and the churches but the settlement process has been slow.
