The body of Marine Lance Cpl. Emilian Sanchez, a Santa Ana/Sandia Pueblo man who was killed in Iraq, returned home to New Mexico on Monday.
Sanchez, 20, was in Iraq less than two months. He was killed January 21 during combat operations.
Gov. Bill Richardson (D) directed that flags be flown at half-mast yesterday. Interstate 25 was briefly closed as Sanchez's body was taken from the airport in Albuquerque north to Santa Ana Pueblo.
