Hundreds attended a weekend memorial for Army Pfc. Sheldon Hawk Eagle, a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe who was killed in action in Iraq.
Hawk Eagle, 21, was remembered as a quiet, compassionate and brave man. People said he always looked out for others, whether it was his family or fellow soldiers.
Hawk Eagle was one of 17 soldiers killed November 15, 2003, in a Blackhawk helicopter crash. He was a descendant of Crazy Horse and Sitting Bull.
