Fund created for Lakota soldier killed in Iraq

A memorial fund has been created in honor of Pfc. Sheldon Hawk Eagle, a Lakota soldier killed in Iraq.

Eagle, a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, and 16 others died when two Blackhawk helicopters crashed on November 15. He was 21.

Services for Hawk Eagle take place today in Eagle Butte, South Dakota, on the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation and tomorrow at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota.
