The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians has begun work on a mixed-use development in Highland, California.
The San Manuel Village includes a 110-room Hampton Inn & Suites hotel, a 68,000-square-foot office building and 40,000 square-feet of retail space. Construction is underway but the ceremonial groundbreaking is December 6.
The village is part of the tribe's effort to diversify. The tribe is a partner in hotels in Washington, D.C., and Sacramento.
