Four tribes welcomed attendees of the National Congress of American Indians to their new hotel in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday.

The Residence Inn Capitol by Marriott is a venture of Four Fires, a partnership of the Oneida Nation and the Forest County Potawatomi Tribe, both of Wisconsin, and the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians and the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians, both of California. It is the first Indian-financed hotel in the nation's capitol.

The 13 floors, 223-suite hotel has been accepting visitors since January 16. It is close to the new National Museum of the American Indian, the Department of Health and Human Services and various Congressional buildings.
