Police in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, set up an "issue team" to address a federal probe into the death of a Native teenager in 1990, CBC News reports.
Police admitted the existence of the team this week as part of an ongoing inquiry into the death of Neil Stonechild, 17. The team contacted an FBI expert to counter a probe the Royal Canadian Mounted Police conducted after Stonechild died.
The RCMP probe found no wrongdoing by the police. But the Saskatchewan government set up an inquiry to determine how Stonechild died. Many in the Native community suspect police involvement.
