MONDAY, MARCH 11, 2002 Famed attorney Johnnie Cochran is representing a group in Connecticut that claims descent from the historic Mohegan Tribe Best known for defending O.J. Simpson, Cochran is helping the Mohegan Tribe and Nation Inc., also known as the Confederation of the Mohegan-Pequot American Indian Nation and Affiliated Tribes Inc., file a lawsuit to gain federal recognition. The group's leader, a man also known as Moigu Standing Bear, claims he is the rightful leader of the Mohegan people. Get the Story:
