MONDAY, DECEMBER 9, 2002 "The latest news coming out of the Indian trust accounts debacle leaves little doubt those in charge haven't a clue what they are doing. It seems the bureaucrats running the show aren't sure exactly what their duties are and, in a very Clintonesque move, have asked for those duties to be defined. This is just another example of the incompetency extant in the Department of the Interior and Bureau of Indian Affairs. Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton didn't create the situation. This debacle has been passed on from secretary to secretary and administration to administration. She also has done nothing to solve the problems. It is time this mess was cleaned up. . ."
