THURSDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2002 The saga over the "bada bing bada boom" Indian casino / gubernatorial ad continues in Maine with Italian and other leaders calling for television stations to ban the offending commercial. "We believe very strongly, as do many others across our state, that the ad is an insult to Italian-Americans, and an affront to all Maine citizens," Portland Mayor Karen Geraghty said at a press conference yesterday. The ad is from the campaign of Green Independent Jon Carter. In it, he accuses Democrat John Baldacci of a flip flop on an Indian casinos. Several years ago, Baldacci, as a state legislator, supported a proposed casino. Now he doesn't. The ad was paid for using state "clean election" funds. Get the Story:
