Italians oppose bada bing bada boom! ad

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2002 Italian-Americans, Democrats and other groups are calling on Maine gubernatorial candidate Jonathan Carter, a Green Independent, to stop running an ad they say depicts italians unfairly. The television spot is a parody on the HBO mafia series "The Sopranos." It criticizes Democrat John Baldacci for changing his mind on support for an Indian casino. "If he flipped he can flop, bada-bing bada-boom, know what I mean?" the ad states. But if Carter is elected: "We ain't gonna be Vegas or Jersey. Not now, not ever. Never.
