EPA global warming report downplayed

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 5, 2002 President Bush and White House spokespersons downplayed a recent Environmental Protection Agency report which predicted major impacts of global warming but offered no change in policy to deal with them. The report, prepared for the United Nations, was made public with no fanfare and tied climate change to the burning of coal, oil and other fossil fuels. Bush and spokespersons said its conclusions were not entirely solid. Get the Story:
