The governor of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe was hospitalized on Thursday after being found unresponsive in his car, The Shawnee News-Star reports.

James Edwards may have had a medical problem while driving. His condition was not known but he was taken to an Oklahoma City hospital after receiving emergency treatment.
