Pollution has forced the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe of Washington to shut down, for the first time, its commercial oyster harvest during the most lucrative season.

Fecal-coliform bacteria from human and animal waste is leeching into Dungeness Bay. The pollution is coming from non-tribal lands.

The tribe is working with Clallam County, the state and others to address the issue.
