Rep. Kennedy backs bill to fix land-into-trust ruling
Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-Rhode Island) is backing a bill to fix the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Carcieri v. Salazar.

Kennedy expects the bill to pass the 111th Congress, particularly if it's attached to must-pass legislation. The issue was raised at a House Natural Resources Committee hearing on H.R.3697 and H.R.3742 on Wednesday.

Kennedy is the only member of Rhode Island's Congressional delegation to support a fix. Other lawmakers from the state are concerned about the ability of the Narragansett Tribe to acquire trust lands.
