Morongo Band prepares for 'Prez on the Rez'
Wednesday, March 21, 2007

The Morongo Band of Mission Indians of California is preparing to host the unprecedented "Prez on the Rez" forum on August 23.

The tribe was selected to host the event, which is being organized by Kalyn Free, the founder of INDN's List. Chairman Robert Martin called it an "historic opportunity."

"No major presidential campaign event has ever come to Indian Country,'' Martin said.

"Prez on the Rez" will be held at the tribe's event center in Cabazon.
