Saginaw Chippewa Tribe keeps on making donations
Thursday, January 5, 2006

The Saginaw Chippewa Tribe of Michigan has continued to make political contributions even after getting rid of disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

According to the Center for Responsive Politics, the tribe gave nearly $1 million to politicians since 2000. Most of the money was donated after the tribe hired Abramoff in late 2001.

The tribe fired Abramoff in early 2004 but continued to make contributions. The tribe's current lobbyists have proposed another $321,000 this year but the plan may not be followed.
