Indian law proposed for Washington bar exam

Attorneys who want to practice law in Washington may soon be tested on their knowledge of Indian law.
The Washington State Bar Association's board of directors will vote on adding an Indian law section to the state exam. New Mexico already added Indian law to its test.
Advocates say Indian law is being more and more important as tribes expand their economies and deal with other jurisdictions. Washington has 29 federally recognized tribes.
The state bar association has four Indian lawyers in top positions.
