Eastern Cherokees set to open second casino by end of the year

The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians is working quickly to open a new casino in North Carolina.

The tribe is spending $110 million on the Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel. Portions of the facility will debut by the end of this year with the remainder coming on line in mid-2015.

Thew new facility is about an hour from the existing Harrah’s Cherokee Casino and Resort.
