The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians is set to release revenue sharing figures later this month and local governments are already clamoring for a cut.
The Pokagon-New Buffalo Local Revenue Sharing Board has received "specific" requests for more than $570,000. These requests are deducted before the rest of the money is distributed to the community.
In 2012, the tribe shared $6.5 million in revenues. The amount is based on 2 percent of electronic gaming revenues at the flagship Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo.
