The Table Mountain Rancheria has contributed $250,000 to a committee that wants to stop the North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians from opening an off-reservation. The Table Mountain Rancheria donated the money to a committee set up by Stand Up for California. The group is gathering signatures to put the North Fork casino on the 2014 ballot. The Table Mountain donation was the largest to the group so far, The Riverside Press-Enterprise reported, citing filings with the Secretary of State's office. The second largest was $186,000 from Brigade Capital Management, a New York-based investment firm. The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut has partnered with the firm to bid on a commercial casino in Massachusetts. The Mohegans are also backing a casino for the Cowlitz Tribe in Washington, a proposal opposed by other tribes in the area. Get the Story:
